Transformers: One uggo to the next

To find a movie that is filled with everything that apeals to everyone is actually hard to find especially an "epic" type movie such as "Transformers". Typically there are one or more aspects of a film that one or more people have a hard time with. Weather certain actors, specific facts-scientific or otherwise, film style etc. Typically people compensate with their imagination and are able to over look these small discrepancies for storyline or whatever reason they may have. I used many things to get over the only one discrepancies that I saw in Transformers... Megan fox. It took everything I had to overlook her awful acting and overall appearance. I wonder what Michael Bay was thinking allowing her to push her lips out and suck air in through her teeth like fake breasted porn star you find pretty much anywhere you look in LA. Other than her nice ass there's really not much to look at. Through the entire first two Transformers films I hoped and wished that they were going to kill her character off... but no, no they didn't. Instead they focus on her a little more in the second and then in their infinite wisdom they decided to find someone a step down for the third. Just when you thought it imposible to find someone harder to look at than Megan Fox they reach deep down into the bowels of the earth and pull out the one... Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. I mean my hell, they may as well a picked Rocky Denise to play Shia LaBeouf's opposite, Probably would have been easier for him to kiss. Seriously, is it because she's British? Viki secrets model? If you wanted a foreign Viki Secrets model there are plenty to pick from that do not look like Mickey Rourke after his last fight. They should have gone with Miranda Kerr, or Andria Lima etc. hell, Marissa Miller blows everyone of those other Viki Secrets models out of the water for beauty... where was her call? No, they overlook every gorgeous woman and went straight to the bottom of the barrel. Don't worry I still plan on watching the new Transformers with bells on. They are and have been excellent movies, action packed with a ton of visual goodies and so far immaculate acting from literally the whole cast except for that one previously mentioned. I just hope that Rosie's acting is better than her looks, but from the way they "SHOWCASE" her in the previews for the new movie I doubt this very much.

Interest Piece: Kites

As I watch my life go on, I've noticed that no matter how bitter and old and ornery I become from the inevitability of life's cold grasp there has always been one thing that washes that all away... Flying Kites.... well, and an ice cold Slurpee... okay two things. But we'll focus on the former. I had my first experience with a kite as a child. it was a horrible time when all I wanted to do was to be inside with my mother doing crafts and other indoor activities. I didn't much care for the out of doors. It wasn't till years later that I discovered the true joy of flying a kite. Placentia California 2002. I met Terry and Janet Miller at a church activity after a very long day at work. They too had an exhausting day but some how found a way to throw it all away and continue to enjoy life. They were the highlight of the evening for everyone there including myself. After talking for a while and getting to know each other they invited me out to the beach for the afternoon the next day. Come to find out Terry was such an enthusiast that he built his own kites. No no, these were no simple thrown together kites, they were elaborate, complex, and elegant kites. The time we had on the beach that day was a memorable one... one that I will hopefully never forget. With a cooler full of drinks and barbequeables, we had no reason to end the fun. He brought four of his favorite kites. A biplane, butterfly, large bird and a very large tube shaped kite. The butterfly was my favorite, I flew it for hours. While the kite flying was the reason we went the highlight of the day was just being outside eating, drinking and meeting and getting to know new people... Oh the people we met that day. There was rarely a moment that we didn't have five to ten people standing around, talking to us and admiring Terry's artwork flying high in the sky. A few people even offered him to buy his kites but... nothing doing. Sadly life can get in the way. for the next few years my life somehow became all about work. Focused on the dollars, paycheck to paycheck I forgot the wonderocities that kite flying could bring. It wasn't til 2007 when life became just to much that I needed a serious break. An idea that started between me and a friend about going to Oregon finally became a reality. We left at 1030 at night headed in the wrong direction. About 20 min later we corrected our course and were now on our way for a grand adventure. Eleven hours later we arrived in Newport Oregon. To tired and ornery to find a hotel we just pulled into a parking lot near the beach, put on the parking break and shut our eyes. Five hours later we were awakened by a cop knocking on the window to a beautiful kite flying day... but first... Coffee and a muffin. mmmmm nothing better than snacking on a muffin and sipping coffee as you sit on a cliff overlooking the ocean, wrapped in a blanket. As soon as we were done we located the nearest kite shop. There's actually quite a few along the coast highway in Oregon. We bought our kite at Kite Co. in Newport Oregon. A nice little shop. The people there are friendly and happy to answer any question and help you find that special kite for you. Ours was a cute little biplane kite that flew quite well. We dorve a pew miles south and took her out for a test flight. Outstanding. That trip took us the length of Oregon on the coast highway. We bought a total of three kites and flew them every chance we got. At the end of the trip I realized that its not just about the activity you are interested in i.e. Kite flying, biking, hiking, or even bird watching. Its about the journey along the way. The people you meet. The adventure. While kite flying was on the mind, it was everything else that surrounded it that made the trip what it was. Since that first trip we have been back to Oregon 4 more times and I will continue to go many many more.

Coffee Shops

To get right down to it. To me, the coffee shop that would be considered my favorite would have to be either the Panini Bakery and Coffee house in Newport Oregon, or Caffe Ibis in Logan Utah.

What makes a good coffee shop? Is it really just as simple as who has the best coffee? Or is it more than that? I have yet to travel the world but I have been a few places and as odd as it may sound, some of the best coffee shops I can remember were right here in Utah. I grew up in small town in central Utah. In my home town of Manti the best cup of coffee was in your own home. Since I had moved up to the valley my eyes had been opened to the wild world of coffee. It is nothing less than magical. As much as I like a cup of coffee in my own home when I first wake up, there is just something that is always missing. Caffe Ibis in Logan Utah offers not only a great cup of coffee but a wide variety of baked goods and other fantastic munchies. Besides the consumables, Caffe Ibis offers an atmosphere that is just inviting and warm. With the shrubberies growing on the outside walls, the .... and its perfect location just down the street from the University this is one place you'll want to visit. Its entrance is in a back alley.

Health Care Reform: Socialist Health care

As one of the middle class I can tell you that I as well as the bulk of the population took Obama's promise to reform health care that he was going to make a national health care similar to Canada or Great Britain's health care. We were wrong. But is this a bad thing. When we look back on American history and how this country was formed we see that hard work was the key. Now, no matter which way we look, every one and their dog is wanting things for free. "health care, auto insurance, food, rent, etc." This nation has become... "lazy"... "ungrateful" and "hypocritical". I think the reason everyone thought that his use of the word "reform" meant that we wouldn't have to pay. Its sad that almost the entire nation wants everything for themselves so bad that they thought this. The truth is, that without hard work this nation would fall apart and be as bad off as the rest of the third world. We in the USA have a good thing going, if we keep this up, our being the superpower of the world will be a thing of the past. A memory. And all the historians of the day will have their hands full with all the "I told you so's" they will have to dish out. President Obama is doing nothing to change our present course. If we do not change our way of thinking about this nation we will find ourselves in a world of hurt. While the system we have in this country may not be perfect, its a pretty darn good one. I have many friends from both England and Canada and none of them have ever told me that their health care system is better than ours. In fact, everyone I know that is from Canada has told me of a
